Everyone likes dogs, but if this rug is anything to go by, the law enforcement in one Florida county are putting just a little too much of their faith in man’s best friend.
A forest green rug emblazoned with a sheriff’s badge was designed to sit in the entrance of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office – and sit it did.
In fact, no one noticed anything unusual about the mat for two months, after which a deputy spotted that it read ‘In dog we trust’ rather than ‘In God we trust.’
According to department spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda, the $500 rug’s glaring typo was a fault of the manufacturer and is in the process of being corrected.
