Yep, that’s definitely an emu running through the street in Devon.

‘But why?’ we hear you ask.

Nikita Miles filmed the massive bird charging down the road in Torrington, moments before members of the public stepped in and tried to catch it.

Eventually the owner, who keeps the massive birds as pets, turned up and managed to get a hold of the runaway emu, however it is still unclear how it escaped.

Nikita, 24, said: ‘We were out driving in town, we had just popped out to buy some milk.

‘I had never seen one before; I thought “what the hell’s that”. Everyone was stood around in shock, watching this thing run past.’

When the police arrived and Nikita told them what she had seen, they reportedly asked her is she was on any drugs.

Although some hopefuls gave chase, they were wasting their breath – adult emus can reach top speeds of 50mph while running.
